Adoption has been one of the most amazing blessings in my life! Almost 5 years ago we decided that adoption would be the way we would build our family. After going through the rigor of becoming "home study" approved, we were ready to start the journey of adoption. We were shocked to learn that 6 weeks after contacting an agency, we were matched with an amazing birthmom Victoria. She was 5 months pregnant and had chosen us to be the parents of her son.
The first meeting with her was so scary! We didn't know what she would think of us and how we could ever be what she expected, so we just decided to be ourselves! We hit it off right away and we left feeling overjoyed at the thought of bringing home a baby in 4 months. We planned and worried and tried to hide our excitement, just in case. We were blessed to attend doctors appointments, have lunches and spend time with Victoria. We learned about her family and children and formed a bond that can never be broken.
On March 3rd, 2012, we met our son Dominic for the first time. Holding him was a dream come true! I loved him from the minute I saw him and being his mom has been so amazing and rewarding. I feel so grateful that I have had the chance to be a mom and try to never take that for granted. The last four years have been amazing and every day I am grateful for him and for Victoria for the choice she made.
We love him so much we are ready to adopt again! We have been hopeful for the last couple of years that we would have the opportunity to adopt another child. But adoption is expensive; more than you think. One night, I had the idea to create a small fundraiser called Pop to Adopt. I wanted to work for the money we raise and feel that it was a worthy product for a worthy cause. I love popcorn and I am passionate about adoption and growing our family.
Just recently my friend Liz ordered some CinnaSugar Caramel Corn for Christmas gifts for family and friends. People wanted to know how to order more! My hope, is that we are able to raise money to adopt and then grow into a nonprofit where we can raise money for others to use toward adoption. I always say having a family shouldn't be so hard, and I hope that we can help it be easier for us and others whose only wish is to be called Mommy or Daddy. I would love for you to follow our journey as I embark on this new cause of helping families grow.
I will be selling snack size ($2) and regular size ($4) bags of CinnaSugar Caramel Corn and snack size ($2) and regular size ($4) bags of Kettle Corn. (**Warning: These may be habit forming!**)
Shipping not included. To order, please email poptoadopt@yahoo.com
